People often wonder if they should bring a photo of the hair style they want when they come to Lather Hair Salon – or any other salon. The answer to this popular question is YES. Your version of a “bob” or a “few inches off” could be totally different from your stylist’s version. Side bangs to you may be thick and fall below your chin, but your stylist may think you mean something wispy and short. A photo will solve that problem.
As for color, most salons have a swatch book that you and your stylist can look at together. While the book does help, it’s nice to see a color on an actual person. A photo will allow you to compare styles and colors so that you and your stylist are on the same page.
Now word of caution: When you’re choosing a picture from a magazine or the Internet, keep it real. If you bring in a photo of someone who has hair that’s the total opposite of yours, thinking you can achieve that style is unrealistic. If you have fine, short hair, don’t choose a picture of a person with long, thick hair. Find someone with hair texture similar to yours. If your hair’s texture is similar to Beyonce Knowles’, for example, don’t bring in a photo of fine-haired Nicole Richie. It’s not going to work.
If you’re just not sure about your hair texture or color choices, bring several different pictures and your stylist can explain to you which one would fit you the best. At Lather Hair Salon, we’ll make sure you’ll love the results!
